For more customization it is possible to follow YouTube tutorial.
Then restart your system and choose plasma desktop while register with your account.
You will see a gear button at bottom right of you register screen.

Anyone have any idea what might cause this?
I have already tried to kill hardware acceleration setting and from what I can see you can find no other slack settings that needs to be a concern here.
In plasma desktop you should go to settings and there you will get all the settings.

From the technical perspective, Ubuntu and Pop!
_OS are largely exactly the same.
The volume of code that separates these two experiences is relatively minor.
But that’s not what matters for most people.

Tried to generate an executable by entering chmod +x balenaEtcher-1.7.9-x64.AppImage in the directory where the appimage file exists.
I’d recommend checking your installation to see should you choose have the necessary version of Glibc along with other requirements for the app to are expected.
In general, we can only provide support for Ubuntu and Fedora installations.

@telometto I tried Ventoy today and it indeed is insane, I loved it.
Think about appimage problem though?.
I put a brand new install of Linux Mint 21 today and downloaded the Etcher appimage immediately after sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y.
The appimage opened immediately.
However, I installed my NVIDIA proprietary drivers immediately after this, rebooted the system and re-ran the appimage.
Doesnt open anymore.

It can be used only if it really is set up during initial installation.
_OS primarily uses free software, with some proprietary software used for hardware drivers for Wi-Fi, discrete GPU and media codecs.
It includes a wide variety of default software, including LibreOffice, Firefox and Geary.
Additional software can be

  • They don’t come with the same amount of integration with the default app store as Snaps do.
  • From a technical perspective, Ubuntu and Pop!
  • _OS is founded on Ubuntu, that means much of what’s new in Ubuntu 22.04 can be available in Pop!
  • _OS and Ubuntu offer an alternate solution to experience GNOME software without quitting docks, desktop icons, and minimize buttons.

_OS provides full out-of-the-box support for both AMD and Nvidia GPUs.
It is thought to be an easy distribution to set up for gaming, mainly due to its built-in GPU support.
_OS provides default disk encryption, streamlined window and workspace management, keyboard shortcuts for navigation in addition to built-in power management profiles.
The latest releases also have packages that enable easy setup for TensorFlow and CUDA.
I’ve found the the solution with the installation of gnome tweak tools and extentions application.
These makes the customization easier since it is on Ubuntu.

  • _OS ships support for the Flatpak format instead of Snap.
  • Without plasma desktop you possibly can make the same but a little difficult.
  • I have these same issues.
  • _OS makes supporting the most recent hardware a more seamless experience.

I have also install plasma-desktop and from there I have installed all of the themes I want.

_Shop, as incomplete.
For users who may choose to check it out on existing hardware he concluded, “now that Ubuntu 17.10 has embraced GNOME, that’s one less reason to set up Pop!_OS over Ubuntu.”
I will note that I experience this with other applications – VS Code, Chromium, Slack, Bitwarden, Balena Etcher.
I also have the same issue on a Dell Precision 5540 running Ubuntu 22.04 (and a 4.x kernel).

When I run the appimage on the terminal, I get the same error as stated.
I think it is something to do with the NVIDIA driver??
Doesnt seem sensible but this is an observation.
There are alternatives for Etcher so this is not an enormous issue (PopOs has pre-installed popsicle for burning iso files).
However, I like this distro and I want to stay with it.
