Hopefully we get some more options soon with new modchips so we don’t need to depend on these overpriced modchips with sparse hardware information.

I do not have the initial ribbon cables for it so I was considering just soldering jumper wires.
However I have not been able to track down a pinout/schematic as a way to identify each solder point on the modchip.
I don’t really care about this being a messy job as I’ve got a switch lite laying around and I’ve got this spare older chip from when I used to mod OLED switches.
I’ve attached an image of the modchip, I am pretty sure it is a v3, but merely to make sure I’ve attached it.
Either way, I assume I could wait until a new modchip is out, I don’t really think I’ll bother going out to purchase a hwfly switch lite modchip as they are still quite expensive at the moment.
I would just wait to see what’s happening with this new modchip on the way that uses an RP2040 which looks promising, but needless to say we are waiting to see if the dev will in actuality release the firmware.

It appears that other people have been able to use OLED modchips on switch lite however those will be the V4 variants which you can flash.
I don’t think its possible to flash this v3, so that is the biggest problem that I foresee.
The glitch voltages could be different as well, remember with the first oled variants that it would send the wrong voltage gets the potential to damage the switch over time.
I have got the hwfly v3 oled chip and I was wondering how I possibly could utilize it on a switch lite.

Yep I think I’l give it a miss, thanks for the people that replied.
The main concerns I’ve is that I’m struggling to manually solder the CPU caps on the SOC, as that cpu ribbon cable seems to be required, that cable has components onto it on the end, looks like some mosfets which seem to be important.
If I were to buy a new CPU cable for that, the OLED one won’t work as the CPU caps are in slightly different positions so that it won’t fit.
If I get yourself a switch lite cable, it still might not work as the actual ribbon cable connector could possibly be different.
I just had it the old modchip laying around and was wondering it had been possible to solder it to a switch lite.
